The Bushmills Banquet, now in it's second year, is an annual celebration of the finest food and drink served by the very best chefs in Bushmills. This is where the teams from the Bushmills Inn, The French Rooms and Tartine (@ The Distillers Arms) join forces, hire a huge marquee and invite 100 lucky ticket holders to a luxurious feast celebrating the finest local products and their providers. It is one of the main launch events of the annual Salmon and Whiskey Festival.
Based on the huge success of the inaugural event word spread quickly that this was something special. When tickets were released for this year's event they sold out in just 10 minutes. Signifying an evening with only the very best on the menu.
Needless to say we were thrilled when we got a call asking if we could provide the coffee on the night. This quickly turned to anxiety when we had to decide which of our coffees could handle the complex menu and discerning guests. It took a while but we decided it had to be our Ciara dark roast coffee which is a blend from Columbia and Guatemala. We also decided that we had to be there so that we could grind the coffee and serve it immediately.
It was great to be a part of this year's event and we were very relieved to get great feedback on the night and on the following days from the guests who tasted our coffee. A very enjoyable evening inspite of the nerves. Here's to next year.
